A.Ag Workshops
A.Ag. Workshops
A.Ag. workshops are organized by the branches and held once or twice a year in each region of the province as well as in conjunction with the BCIA Annual General Meeting. These workshops cover two primary topics, The Profession of Agrology and Professional Ethics and are required as part of the A.Ag program. The workshops may be combined into a single event or be held at different times, depending on the requirements within the region.
The Profession of Agrology workshop consists of the following topis:
- What is "Professionalism"?
- The history of BCIA
- Development of a professional body
- The Agrologist Act (2003) and Bylaws
- Code of Ethics
- Scope of Agrology
- Issues facing Professional Agrologists in BC today
- The role of Agrologists in advocacy
- Continuing professional development requirements
- An overview of other resource professions and their governance
Workshops are held throughout the year in various locations. The office sends out emails to notify the members of each branch when details are available. Check the events calendar as all workshops are posted there as well.
If you require further information on workshops contact your Branch A.Ag coordinator or the BCIA office at 250-380-9292.
