Professional Development
The British Columbia Institute of Agrologists (BCIA) is committed to a Professional Development program and policies that assist members in ensuring and making evident their professionalism. On-going professional development is a basic tenet of professionalism. Thus, it is the responsibility of all Agrologists to maintain competence through ongoing professional development.
Continuing competence will be demonstrated through recorded professional development. A Professional Development Reporting Form allows members to record professional development under the categories of:
- Professional Practice
- Continuing Education
- Professional Contributions
- Professional Service
Please find below the Professional Development Reporting Guidelines and the Recording Form. Reporting Professional Development is mandatory. Council confirmed that membership renewals cannot be processed without the Professional Development Recording Form being submitted or the member entering the PD activities in their profile. Declaring the area of practice is also required at time of renewal.
Please check the calendar regularly for Professional Development Events in your area.
