DWB Consulting Services Ltd. (DWB) is an integrated consulting firm specializing in offering clients environmental, engineering, and forestry services. DWB is seeking applications for an intermediate reclamation, assessment and remediation specialist with experience in disturbed site soil and groundwater assessment and remediation in BC and AB.
Knowledge and experience with relevant provincial and federal legislation and familiarity with the environmental site assessment process is a requirement. This position will be responsible for completing field and office tasks related to Stage 1 and 2 Preliminary Site Investigations, including surface soil and water sampling, groundwater monitoring and sampling, drilling supervision, remedial excavations, reporting and spill response. In addition, completing reclamation assessments and earthworks supervision will also be required. Experience in wildlife sweeps, invasive species management and/or stream classification would be considered an asset.
The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5-8 years working in oil and gas, and must be able to thrive in a demanding, fast-paced progressive work environment. This successful applicant must have, or be eligible for, membership in a relevant professional organization, such as the BC Institute of Agrologists. The preferred candidate will be able to work with strategic alliances both internally and externally from our DWB team. In addition, he/she will have strong communication and organization skills and effective relationship building skills, especially as it pertains to First Nations.
Current experiences should include, but are not limited to;
- Disturbed site soil and groundwater assessment, remediation and reclamation,
- Site supervisor for Stage 2 PSI/DSI, remediation, and reclamation,
- Stage 1 and 2 PSI reporting,
- Being part of a multi-disciplinary team of professionals,
- Liaising with regulators and clients,
- Understanding environmental policy and regulations,
- Scientific report writing and,
- Working with First Nations
