The Fossil Management Framework provides for the protection and management of this natural heritage resource and offers opportunities for cultural tourism and rural economic development. British Columbia has an exceptional diversity of fossils spanning millions of years, and fossils are of great interest to the public, industry and the scientific community, but they can also contribute to rural sustainability and diversification.
