Welcome to the Fraser Valley Branch Annual General Meeting!

Date:  Thursday, January 25, 2018

Where:  Tradex, Trade & Exhibition Centre, Abbotsford International Airport

Cost:  $15.00 for members; no charge for AGM only

*There will be an opportunity for AAg's to do their AAg intro so if you are an AAg that needs to still do this task as part of your AAg program, please be prepared to do so.  It's to be a few minutes on academic background, field of specialization and current employment (any other neat tidbit on yourself).

Branch Executive Elections during AGM:

The FV Branch needs members to serve on the Executive.  As per the new BCIA Bylaws, which came into effect January 1, 2018, the following positions must be elected.  They are:

President: Linda Wilson will advance from President-Elect to President for 2018.

President-Elect: The president-elect supports the President and the Executive.  The President-elect is mentored for one year before assuming the role of Branch President in 2019.

BCIA Councilor: Serves on BCIA Council, representing Fraser Valley Branch.  Reports back to Branch. Expect to attend 4-5 in person meetings/year mostly in Richmond.

Treasurer: The treasurer approves expenses and reports on the Branch finances.

Professional Development Coordinator: The PD Coordinator organizes and coordinates Branch PD events, with assistance and participation of all members of the executive.

Articling Agrologist Coordinator: The A.Ag. Coordinator works with Branch A.Ags. to guide them through the articling process.
In addition to the above positions, our branch Executive includes the positions of:

Secretary: The secretary is responsible for recording and maintaining Executive meeting minutes.

Communications Coordinator: The Communication Coordinator writes brief articles and takes photos about Branch activities for the BCIA newsletter and for sharing on social media (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter).

*****As a member of the Fraser Valley Branch, your Executive encourages you to consider standing for an Executive Position.  Serving on the branch Executive is fun and rewarding.  The executive meets monthly (with summer hiatus), generally in the evening. Executive meetings always include lively and friendly discussion, and good food!  Also, members serving on the Executive can earn PD hours. Information on branch executive roles is here.
