Fraser Valley Branch presents a
Flower Auction Tour
Tuesday - September 12, 2017 - 6:30 AM (South Burnaby)
Be ready to get up early - but it’s worth it!
Join other Fraser Valley Branch members in a highly informative and exciting tour of the largest Dutch-style flower auction on the continent. Our guided tour, led by Mr. Bob Pringle (CEO, United Floral Holdings Inc., United Flower Growers Co-operative Association), should last a bit over one hour. It’s super early every day of the month that the auction takes place…this way retailers have fresh cut flowers the day they buy them. Participants will be able to watch the auction and enjoy some free refreshments afterwards.
This is a unique opportunity to see wholesalers and retailers place bids on more than 20,000 buckets of flowers. United Floral now records about $60 million in annual revenues, about half of which comes from the co-op’s auction sales. More details here (https://www.ufgca.com)
