Join us on Saturday October 10, 2020 for a morning with the Wild Bird Trust of British Columbia (WBT) at Maplewood Flats Conservation Area to for an Indigenous plant walk to learn about Indigenous plant use, from medicines for teas, edible berries and more.
WBT is a non-profit society that manages the Conservation Area at Maplewood Flats in North Vancouver. The Conservation Area at Maplewood Flats is situated within the traditional, ancestral and unceded territory of the Tseil-Waututh Nation (TWN). (https://wildbirdtrust.org/about-wbt/)
WBT’s mission statement:
“To provide wild birds with sanctuary through ecological protection and restoration, and support communities with education, culture, and reconciliation programs”.
The visit to Maplewood Flats Conservation Area includes an introduction to WBT, a brief presentation on WBT’s nursery growth project and the indigenous plant walk. More information: https://wildbirdtrust.org/visit/nature-walks/

The maximum capacity for the event is 20 people (2 groups of 10). Please sign up early to avoid disappointment! This event is open to BCIA Vancouver and Fraser Valley branch members only at this time. Sorry... no guests.

While on site please respect COVID-19 protocols and keep 2 m apart. Please bring your own mask. Mask use is encouraged. If you have tested positive for COVID-19, are awaiting test results for a COVID-19 test, are experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19, have travelled outside of Canada within two weeks of the event or have been in contact with people who have tested positive for COVID-19 please do not attend the event.
