Participants will learn to identify key invasive plants in the Columbia Shuswap region and implement best management practices in the field to prevent the spread of invasive species.
The Identification portion of this workshop will focus on high priority invasive plants with yellow flowers- such as leafy spurge, wild parsnip, yellow flag iris and others.This workshop is applicable to stewardship groups industry, forestry, Indigenous Peoples, municipal and regional staff, landscapers, gardeners, recreationists and other interested individuals. Topics that will be covered include invasive plant identification, best management practices for reducing the spread of invasive species, control options and reporting.
