Join us for a lunch time webinar to discuss the inner workings of 3 invasive plant programs happening in the Thompson-Nicola Regional District.

Coleen Hougen is the Invasive Plant Management Coordinator for theThompson-Nicola Invasive Plant Management Committee (TNIPMC). Coleen will introduce you to the TNIPMC and share information on priority invasive plants in the TNRD and management expectations.

Grahame Gielens, AAg, Environmental Roadside Manager, Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure (MOTI), oversees invasive plant management. Grahame will speak about some of the impacts caused by invasive plants to infrastructure and how invasive plants are managed by MOTI and its provincial partners.

Mike Dedels heads a Red Cross funded project through the TNRD to limit the spread of invasive plants on roadways, privatelands, First Nations reserves and municipalities after the Elephant Hill Fire. This is the last year of the three year program, and Mike will talk about some of the successes and challenges.

Organized by the Kamloops branch with the support of the Thompson-Nicola Regional District, the Thompson-Nicola Invasive Species Management Committee and BC's Ministry of Transportation.
