The BCIA Okanagan Branch is pleased to offer a Brown Bag lunch event for any of its members on the topic of Life Cycle Assessment. Climate change mitigation and adaptation is increasingly forcing agricultural and other resource sectors to critical assess their supply chains and the use and allocation of resources within those supply chains to mitigate overall carbon emissions and other environmental impacts. Life Cycle Assessment is a methodology towards this end. Nicole Bamber is a graduate student at UBC-Okanagan campus exploring the use of mulches in vineyards and orchards under alternative scenarios using the openLCA software tool to evaluate the implications for each scenario. Join us for this lunch and learn event to learn more about Nicole's research, Life Cycle Assessment, and the openLCA tool on May 30 at the Kelowna offices of the BC MInistry of Agriculture.
