The Okanagan Branch of the BCIA invites you to register for their upcoming Annual General Meeting, being held virtually on
Thursday January 21, 2021 at 7:00 PM (PST).
Since this meeting will be held virtually, we need to organise in advance the nominations for positions on the branch executive and receive motions. Please send any motions from the floor to email@example.com. For executive nominations, see below.
2021 Branch Executive Nominations
If you, or someone you know are interested in participating in the Okanagan Branch Executive in 2021, we invite you to submit your nomination to Carl Wither (firstname.lastname@example.org). Deadline for nominations is January 6th, 2021. Please note that nominations will be accepted from the virtual “floor” for only positions which have not received nominations prior to the AGM.
The following Okanagan Branch Executive positions are open for nominations for the 2021 term:
- Vice President – 2 yr term (President Elect)
- Professional Development (PD) Coordinator
- Articling Coordinator
- Director Central
- Director South
- Director North
- Member(s) at Large

Articling Registrants Needing to do their Oral Presentation and Newly Elevated Registrants (PAgs and RTAgs)
All articling registrants who would like to complete their oral presentation component at this year’s AGM, please inform Theresa Loewen (Articling Coordinator) as soon as possible and forward your name, photo and a short bio to email@example.com by the deadline of January 11th. Last minute presentations from the floor will not be accepted. Due to the virtual format of the AGM, each presentation will be allocated a maximum of 5-minutes of agenda time.
All newly elevated registrants since the last Branch AGM (new PAgs and RTAgs) wishing to be recognized for their achievement and those still needing to recite their Code of Ethics oath, please inform Theresa Loewen as soon as possible and provide your name and a photo (preferably with you holding your framed certificate) to firstname.lastname@example.org by January 11th. Last minute requests from the floor will not be accepted.
NOMINATIONS FOR AWARDS
If you met someone outstanding in their agricultural practice, visited an amazing farm, or interacted with an environmental or agricultural business, we would love to hear about it. Nominations for the following awards are now open:
- Okanagan Branch Agrologist Achievement Award
- Okangan Branch Lifetime Achievement Award
- Okanagan Branch Environmental Award
- Okanagan Farm Family Award
- Okanagan Agricultural Business Award
If you know of someone outstanding in their field or have interacted with a business who you think deserves recognition, please inquire to Danielle Hirkala (email@example.com) for further nomination details.
All nomination packages need to be sent into Danielle and the Awards Committee before December 10, 2020. Recognition for the above awards will be presented at the Annual Okanagan AGM in January, 2020.
