Vancouver Branch 2018 AGM

The British Columbia Institute of Agrologists Vancouver Branch will be holding its Annual General Meeting on Monday February 4, 2019.  We would like to extend an invitation to all of our members and guests to attend this meeting:

  • 6:30-7:15 PM- Keynote Speaker: Oana Enick “A Discussion of Recent Events in the Profession of Agrology and the new Professional Governance Act”

  • 7:30-8:15 PM- Presentations (2018 BCIA Scholarship recipients, AAg presentations (2-3 min) & P.Ag. certificates)

Keynote Speaker: Oana Enick, P.Ag. is the current President of the British Columbia Institute of Agrologists and works full time with the British Columbia Ministry of Environment and Climate Change Strategy.  Her focus is on hazardous waste management and oil spill response as well as on various areas of governance, accountability and transparency in support of protecting the environment and human health.  Oana has worked with the BCIA for six years as the Chair of the Professional Practice Committee, and for two years as a member of the Professional Accountability Committee with the College of Applied Biology.  The last 12 to 18 months have been eventful for the profession of agrology and Oana will be sharing an abbreviated snapshot of current events respecting these developments, including the new Professional Governance Act.

Branch Executive Elections:  An election for the Branch Executive positions will be held at the meeting. If you have been a member in good standing and are interested in serving on the Executive, please forward your name and position of interest by email to: vancouverbcia@gmail.com and indicate your position of interest  or alternatively you can put your name forward during the AGM.

Registration for Keynote speaker, food (hot and cold appetizers catered by Savoury Chef), and AGM:

  • $20 A.Ag., P.Ags, retired members
  • $10 student members
  • $40 non-members

Registration for AGM only (entrance after 7:30): no charge

Registration:  Please register online.  Log in as a member then go to Events or Branches and select Vancouver Branch AGM.  No registration fees will be collected at the venue.  All registration must be completed on-line.
