Victoria & Islands Branch Invites you to a Tour of the Haliburton Community Organic Farm and adjacent Haliburton Biodiversity Project.

The Haliburton Community Organic Farm is a community-supported, small-scale sustainable organic agriculture collective that is carried out in harmony with local ecosystems. Adjacent to the farm plots is an urban biodiversity enhancement and restoration project in which an ephemeral wetland, adjacent meadow, and upland forest is being restored after decades of past agriculture use.

Vancouver Island Branch Registrants are invited to register for this tour to learn more about how the community organic farm works, what the restoration project has accomplished so far, and goals for the future. The restoration project is on-going and for interested members on the tour a bag lunch will be provided to those who would like to stay after the tour and volunteer two hours to the restoration project.

This tour is limited to 12 spots and registration numbers must be submitted to the tour facilitator by April 30th, so register early!

  • 10 AM -12 PM Tour
  • 12 PM -1 PM Bag lunch provided for those on the tour that would like to stay after lunch for a volunteer work party at the wetland restoration site
  • 1 PM - 3PM  Optional volunteer work party at the restoration site
