FireSmart in BC  - webinar

This is part of a new Wildfire and Climate Change Winter/Spring 2019 Webinar Series

FireSmart Canada leads the national efforts to engage citizens and communities in reducing wildfire risk reduction. Kelly will describe the national programs and opportunities for communities. In BC, FireSmart programs are championed by BC FireSmart Committee. Kelsey will outline new initiatives in BC to expand FireSmart activities across the province.

Speakers:

• Kelly Johnson, Technical Advisor, FireSmart Canada and Kelsey Winter, FireSmart Coordinator, BC Wildfire Services

These webinars expand on the learnings from the 2018 Kootenay Wildfire and Climate Change conference. The topics include landscape and community scale wildfire risk reduction and climate change, and the examples span the province.

Anyone interested in wildfire risk reduction in BC will benefit from these webinars – natural resource and wildfire managers and practitioners; local government staff and elected officials; and keen community members.
