The WCDS Advisory Committee is planning a safe return to an in-person WCDS. In addition to adhering to all Alberta Health Services and University of Alberta health restrictions, the following decisions have been made to reduce health and safety risks, as well as to reduce disruptions to the Seminar in the event of changing COVID-19 restrictions:
There will be no concurrent sessions; it will be easier to manage spacing and movement in plenary sessions.
- Only speakers residing in Canada will be invited to speak at the 2022 WCDS. All speakers are being asked to speak in person and an all-Canadian program will reduce the risk of travel restrictions while celebrating dairy research in Canada.
- There will be no pre-conference farm tours. Instead, high quality, professionally produced virtual farm tours will be presented as part of the producer panel.
- There will be no pre-conference workshop
We will keep providing updates on the 2022 WCDS format as we get closer to March 2022. Thank you for your support in making the 40th anniversary of the WCDS a successful and safe event.
