Online credit card payments by Mastercard or Visa are accepted. Payment can also be made by mailing a cheque, money order, or credit card details to BCIA along with a copy of the invoice - the envelope must be postmarked February 15th or earlier. NOTE: Mailed or phone in payments will NOT be processed until the required minimum PD hours for 2020 AND area(s) of practice for 2020 have been reported.
When paying by credit card, you will receive a processing receipt via email. If you require an official hardcopy receipt and/or a registrant card you can access that via your BCIA profile > Invoices/Receipts after your payment has been processed.
DEADLINE FOR FEE PAYMENTS IS FEBRUARY 15, 2021 but we encourage registrants to pay 2021 annual fees before December 31, 2020. A late fee of $100.00 (practicing) or $50.00 (on leave) will be applied to those not paid by the payable date February 15, 2021. If renewal fee and the late fee are not paid prior to April 1, 2021 removal from the register is required.
INSTALLMENT PAYMENTS are an option. If you would like to request a payment plan over the invoicing period from November 2020 - February 15, 2021, please contact Seija Laukkanen, Financal Officer at email@example.com as soon as possible. Each request will be reviewed individually and a $25 administration fee will be charged for this service. Please note that all installment payments must be received by Febrary 15, 2021, or an additional late fee will be charged if extended out until March 31, 2021.
BEFORE PAYING FEES
- Registrants are required to report all 2020 Professional Development activities AND declare 2020 Area(s) of Practice.
- Once 2020 PD is reported AND area(s) of practice are declared the red warning box disappears and the PAY NOW button will appear on your invoice.
- Registrants who do not report the required annual minimum of 30 PDH will see a pop up screen and must respond to one of the following questions:
- I understand the PD requirements and will declare more PDH for 2020 before Feb. 15, 2021.
- I understand that as I have declared less than the required minimum of 30 PDH for 2020, I will be required to complete and submit a PD workplan for 2021.
- I understand the PD requirements. I was a new registrant or on leave in 2020.
- Once one of the above choices is selected, the PAY NOW button will appear on the invoice.
PAg(Retired) registrants are exempt from PD reporting but are required to complete the online Status Declaration. A link to the Status Declaration is available within the invoice. Complete online (ideal) or submit the PAg(Retired) declaration in paper form found under 'FORMS', before payment is accepted.
Student members are exempt from PD reporting and payment of annual fees, but are required to complete the online Status Declaration. A link to the Status Declaration is available within the invoice (at $0.00). Complete online (ideal) or submit the student member declaration in paper form found under 'FORMS'.
Articling Registrants with 3+ years articling status: An extension fee of $60 has been added to 2021 invoices to equal full status fees.
Change of Status/ On Leave Status
Registrants who plan to retire, resign or go on leave MUST complete the appropriate Change of Status form. Registrants who do not notify the BCIA office of on leave status are subject to the minimum PD requirements of regulated status.
Registrants returning to active practicing status must complete and submit 'Return as a Practicing Registrant from On Leave' form, and ensure all PD is reported and up to date. No refunds will be provided if a registrant submits a change of status following the payment of 2021 annual fee.

BCIA registrants may make their contact information available to other BCIA registrants or to the public. Releasing contact information to the public makes your name and areas of practice available under List of Registrants.
