Kootenay Boundary Branch Announce Recipients of the Inaugural Willow Tree and Green Shoot Awards.

The BCIA Kootenay Boundary Branch is excited to announce the winners of our inaugural Branch recognition awards that were announced during our AGM on November 26th.

The Willow Tree was awarded to Greg Utzig, PAg in recognition of his passionate leadership and commitment to protect, preserve and restore the earth’s natural systems. Greg is a conservation ecologist and land use planning consultant with over 40 years’ experience in a wide range of activities related to forest management and biodiversity protection. At present his focus is on adapting biodiversity conservation measures to the realities of rapid climate change.

The Green Shoot was awarded to Rachael Roussin AAg in recognition of the growth in her career, her passion for the work that she does and the fresh perspective that she brings to the field of agrology. Rachael is a passionate and dedicated Agrologist. As the west Kootenay Farm Advisor, she is working hard to promote and protect farms and food security in our region.
