March Featured Agrologist - Julie Robinson, P.Ag.
Julie Robinson has been a P.Ag for 11 years operating in the BC Peace Region. She is passionate about plants and their production, specifically forages and other food for livestock. Extension and supporting the agriculture industry motivate her to push innovative boundaries and support local organizations in the development of applied research projects. Some of her favorite and most challenging projects over the last ten years include working with the BC Ministry of Agriculture in the development of a provincial Wildlife Compensation Program and working with the Peace River Forage Association of BC in their rejuvenation and seeding project. Both of these have provided and great opportunity for growth and knowledge sharing. She is currently working on contracts related to seeding and forage rejuvenation applied research and extension and working on a regional pest monitoring program and complimentary weather monitoring system. The diversity of opportunities is enjoyable and challenging.
BCIA has provided a backbone to Julie's accreditation and professional development. She has been a part of Peace River branch executive and has been fortunate to have spent the past three years serving on the BCIA Council as president-elect, president and currently as past-president.
"I have enjoyed watching BCIA grow as a regulatory body and appreciate the opportunity to work with members to develop a strategic plan for the next five years and work with Council on the Professional Reliance Review. I am thankful for the opportunity to learn while on Council."
