BCIA is pleased to announce the results of its online nomination process for five (5) Registrant Councillor positions in compliance with the Professional Governance Act and the new BCIA Bylaws.
We thank all four candidates who have been acclaimed into the following positions commencing with the adjournment of the 2021 BCIA AGM currently set for May 18, 2021:
- Rebecca Martin, PAg, three year term for Electoral Regional District 1 (Peace River, CCI, Kootenay Boundary and Registrant at Large);
- Jessica Morgan, PAg, three year term for Electoral Regional District 2 (Kamloops, Okanagan, Fraser Valley), and incoming President;
- William Shaw, PAg, one year term for Electoral Regional District 2 (Kamloops, Okanagan, Fraser Valley);
- Yasemin Parkinson, PAg, three year term for Electoral Regional District 3 (Vancouver, Victoria and Islands).
With respect to the one year term vacancy in District 1, no nominations were received prior to the close of the nomination period. Consequently, in compliance with Bylaw 56(a) the Branch Executives within District 1 were consulted through their respective Presidents. All three Branches agreed with the proposed appointment of Todd Larsen, PAg, into the vacant one year term in District 1.
On February 25, 2021, Council moved that Todd Larsen, PAg, be appointed as a Registrant Councillor for Regional Electoral District 1, for a one year term, commencing with the adjournment of the 2021 BCIA AGM currently set for May 18, 2021.
After consultation with the OSPG we have confirmed that no further action by Council is required with respect to these acclamations or appointment.
BCIA hereby confirms the filling of all five vacancies and hereby confirms the filling of all five vacancies, concluding the 2021 nominations process.
