Survey on Climate Change Adaptation Professional Skills and Knowledge: building momentum for new BCIA Continuing Professional Development

Survey on Climate Change Adaptation Professional Skills and Knowledge: building momentum for new BCIA Continuing Professional Development

Natural Resources Canada and BC Climate Action Secretariat has funded a 3-year project, Inspiring Climate Action: BC Professionals Adaptation Network. This project is led by a team from Royal Roads University's Resilience by Design Lab (Dr. Robin Cox, Project Lead and Vivian Forssman, Program Manager). The project objective is to build capacity for climate change adaptation among BC professionals. This capacity building involves;

  • developing and offering continuing professional development courses on Climate Change Adaptation topics for professional association members, in partnership with 7 BC post-secondary institutions, and
  • supporting a web-based professional learning community.

BCIA supports this project, and one of the first steps in supporting this initiative is to hear from you, as a member of BCIA. We need input surrounding your interests and priorities for professional development related to climate change adaptation.

Please take 15 minutes to participate in this survey. Our questions are about our readiness in addressing climate change adaptation issues in BC, and are specifically focused on your current and required knowledge, skills, and professional responsibilities. We also ask how you prefer to access continuing professional development opportunities that are intended to build skills and capacity on climate change adaptation.

The survey will close on March 29th, 2019Please head here to participate:   https://www.surveymonkey.ca/r/HC36DCD
