BC Institute of Agrologists has completed a risk assessment of the potential effects of the COVID-19 virus on our upcoming Conference, AGM and post conference workshops set for May 20-23 at Sun Peaks Grand Resort and Conference Centre, just outside of Kamloops. Upon review of the current information from the World Health Organization, Health Canada, BC Ministry of Health, and the BC Centre for Disease Control the risk of the virus spreading remains low.
We are assured by the venue that containment policies recommended by the BC provincial government agencies will be followed including sufficient access to hand-washing and sanitization. While we recognize the potential health risks posed by the COVID-19 virus, at this time we have decided to proceed with our annual Conference and the associated events. Notice from Sun Peaks Resort.
If a situation occurs, such as a provincial ban on gatherings (under 250 people) which causes the conference to be cancelled, we will advise our Registrants immediately and provide full refunds to our registered attendees.
We will keep abreast on the most current updates - certainly things are changing quickly and additional assessments will be made in the coming days and weeks.
