BCIA’s Provincial Council (“Council”) is responsible for the strategic and professional direction of the Institute, in accordance with the Agrologists Act [SBC.2003 Ch.13] and the Professional Governance Act [SBC.2018 Ch.49]. Council establishes priorities with oversight of the Institute’s activities, budget and organizational compliance. Councillors are entrusted to protect the public interest and to direct the activities of the organization as a whole rather than in their own interest or that of any specific group, Regional Electoral District or Branch. BCIA operates in accordance with a policy governance model with all operational decisions being made by staff in accordance with the annual budget approved by Council.
Election for the Electoral District 3 Registrant Councillor will be by electronic ballot. Voting opens on Tuesday May 12 at noon PDT and closes on Thursday May 14 at 5:00 pm PDT. Electoral District 3 registrants will be emailed a link to the electronic ballot no later than 11:00 am on May 12.

All candidates have been assessed by the BCIA NominationS Committee using the processes outlined in Sections 25 and 26 of the Professional Governance Act and Sections 5 and 6 of the Professional Governance General Regulation.
