Climate Change in North-Central BC and the importance of the climate change informed Agrologist

Not another climate change talk, why should I attend this one? Climate change is occurring in north-central BC with many impacts to our land, water, and our communities. This talk will cover recent climate change in the region, future projections, impacts, and extreme events. It will also discuss the role Agrologists can play in considering climate change in natural resource management for mitigating or adapting to impacts.

Vanessa Foord, P.Ag., is a Research Climatologist with the Ministry of Forests, Lands, Natural Resource Operations and Rural Development. She studies climate trends and the impact of climate change on natural disturbances in northern BC such as forests pests and disease, drought, landslides, and hydrologic change. She also works to promote and aid in the consideration of climate change in natural resource management.
