Students in agriculture, natural resources, environmental or related programs at British Columbian colleges or universities are welcomed as student members of BCIA. Students are given complimentary membership and receive regular communications and events information. Students are encouraged to participate in district and branch activities, and professional development opportunities, which may be offered at subsidized rates.
Membership as a student does not guarantee acceptance into the Articling Program. Student membership is only available when the student is attending school and before application to become an agrologist. A graduating or a recently graduated student transitioning to full professional registration must submit a separate application form and accompanying documents as described in the application instructions. Refer to Registrants > Requirements for more information.
Students receive email news and events information distributed by BCIA and are welcome to attend BCIA events; however, students are not eligible to vote at meetings, and cannot use any title or designation other than student member. The use of BCIA seals or stamps is prohibited for students.
Students applying for the $1500 BCIA Scholarships must also be accepted as a student member or already be a current registrant.
Student membership must be renewed annually between mid-November to April 1st by accessing the invoice tab on the only profile and completing the student status declaration.
BCIA will waive half ($100.00) of the new registrant application fee for the AAg or the ATAg articling program when a graduate applies for registration within 180 days or 6 months after graduation.
