When multiple human and natural disturbances occur over time, they can have compounding effects to values on a landscape scale. Climate change and growing resource demands have increased the potential for these impacts and highlight the need to consider these effects to values of importance. The BC Cumulative Effects Framework was developed to assess cumulative effects and support decision making and values management. In this session we will talk about this framework and how it is being applied in the Thompson Okanagan Region.

Chelsea Enslow works for the Ministry of Water, Land and Resource Stewardship in the Thompson Okanagan Region. She has been working on cumulative effects since 2018, and more recently took on role of regional lead for the program. Chelsea is a Professional Agrologist and attended UBC for her Environmental Science degree (2012), and the University of Manitoba for her Master of Natural Resource Management degree (2017).
