Call for Registrant Board Member Nominations: Regional Electoral District 3

BCIA is now welcoming nominations for election to a three-year position as a Registrant Board Member for Regional Electoral District 3. After the election, this three-year position will immediately commence at the conclusion of the 2025 BCIA Annual General Meeting set for May 20, 2026.

It is vital that the successful candidate attend the New Board Member Orientation Session and Board Meeting scheduled for Friday, May 29 and Saturday May 30, 2026. Therefore, we ask that all candidates hold this time in their calendars to ensure that they are available to attend should they be successful. If a candidate has any questions or concerns with this requirement, they are encouraged to contact the Governance Secretary at nominations@bcia.com.

Nominations will be accepted from Monday, January 5, 2026, to Friday, February 6, 2026, 11:59 pm Pacific time at nominations@bcia.com.

What does a Board do?

The key function and mandate of the BCIA Board is to govern and oversee the organization to ensure BCIA is meeting its mandate of regulating professional agrologists in the public interest. The board sets the organization’s Mission, Vision and Strategic Direction to guide BCIA’s regulatory work in all areas including registration, professional development and investigations. In addition, the board guides the values and principles in how BCIA does it work including making meaningful strides towards Indigenous Truth and Reconciliation as well as diversity, inclusion and equity.

Why become a board member?

Becoming a board member offers you a unique opportunity not only for professional development but also for personal growth. Serving on a board allows you to contribute your skills and expertise to BCIA, gain valuable leadership experience and positively contribute to the strategic guidance of BCIA while developing new skills in governance, business management, and communication. It also provides you with the opportunity to connect with others in your profession and expand your professional network.
