CEO and Registrar

Jennifer, Chief Executive Officer and Registrar, brings a strong background in regulation, governance, and operational excellence to her leadership role. She is responsible for executing strategy, managing day-to-day operations, and reporting to the BCIA Board. With a wealth of knowledge and a proven track record of values-based leadership, Jennifer drives innovation and growth while staying true to the institute’s mission. She plays a key role in shaping BCIA’s strategic direction and ensuring the organization fulfills its regulatory mandate to serve and protect the public interest.

Andrea Gunner, PAg
Deputy Registrar: Practice

In her current role as Deputy Registrar: Practice, Andrea works closely with the CEO/Registrar and dedicated BCIA staff to advance BCIA’s strategic direction particularly as it relates to the intersection between regulation and practice area recommendations. She provides leadership across BCIA’s 12 practice areas, ensuring our initiatives align with our core regulatory functions: registration, professional development, and investigations.

 

Laurena Olsen
Deputy Registrar: Registration

Laurena has been with the BC Institute of Agrologists since 2005, serving in various capacities. Since 2018, she has held the role of Deputy Registrar: Registration. In her current role as Deputy Registrar: Registration, Laurena manages and coordinates the processing of new applications and credential assessments for entry to practice. She plays a key role in delivering the Articling Program and works closely with the Registrar and the Credentials Committee to ensure new registrants meet the professional standards required in agrology.

Jannelle Snowden
Office Manager & Governance Secretary

Jannelle, as Office Manager and Governance Secretary, provides high-level executive support to the CEO and strategic organizational management to the BCIA Board and Committees, particularly in regulatory and governance matters. Her responsibilities include drafting and implementing operational policies and procedures, as well as leading large-scale initiatives through effective project management and cross-functional coordination.

Jasmine Wong, BA, BCOM
Provincial PD Coordinator

Jasmine, Provincial Professional Development Coordinator(PPDC), leads the rollout of professional development and ethics programs, coordinates Indigenous-focused training, and handles everything from course logistics to feedback collection. Beyond running the BCIA PD calendar and supporting Branch Executives, Jasmine also supports the Audit and Practice Review Committee, manages the Annual PD Audit, and drives projects that keep BCIA’s programming fresh, impactful, and aligned with registrant needs.

Carol Lebreux
Registration and Administrative Assistant

As the Registration and Administrative Assistant, Carol serves as the initial point of contact for inquiries related to registration. She provides essential administrative support to the Deputy Registrar: Registration, particularly in handling paperwork and processes associated with registrant applications and the Articling Program. Her responsibilities also include preparing the office for various meetings, supporting internal office procedures, assisting with select financial processes, and contributing to special projects as needed.
