Kristen will discuss her involvement in a collaborative initiative led by the Skeetchestn Indian Band to restore the Deadman River. Her presentation will cover culturally informed approaches to mitigating the impacts of wildfires on watersheds and salmon habitats.

Alex Bevington
Alex Bevington is a Research Hydrologist with the Ministry of Forests, Regional Operations Division - North Area. He specializes in using remote sensing techniques to quantify environmental changes, with a particular focus on the unique challenges of B.C.’s northern and mountainous landscapes. -
Kristen Kieta
Kristen Kieta is a Postdoctoral Researcher whose expertise lies in assessing aquatic impacts of landscape-level disturbances. She is part of a multi-party initiative to restore the Deadman River and develop innovative strategies for addressing wildfire effects on critical ecosystems.
