Join the CCI Branch for Podcast Club: “The True Cost of Food

The CCI Branch invites you to a relaxed and engaging Podcast Club — an informal professional development opportunity where BCIA registrants come together to discuss thought-provoking podcasts related to agrology, environmental issues, Indigenous perspectives, food systems, climate change, and more.

Each session features a selected podcast episode to listen to ahead of time, followed by a facilitated virtual discussion. Whether you're tuning in during your commute or out in the field, this is a flexible and enriching way to reflect, connect, and explore diverse viewpoints in a casual, inclusive setting.

This Session’s Topic: Episode 6 of the Sow and Grow Podcast“The True Cost of Food”.

Guest Cheyenne Sundance shares her experiences at Sundance Harvest, an urban farm in Toronto, highlighting the realities of food pricing, fair wages, and food sovereignty. The conversation explores the systemic undervaluing of farm labour and the tension between affordable food and dignified livelihoods for small-scale farmers.
