The current pricing for the Ethics series is $200 per course. However, fees will increase after February 2025 due to inflationary adjustments, so we encourage you to take advantage of the current rates.

This course is a requirement for articling registrants and those accepted under the expedited/LLAg admission programs.

This ethics course is taking place in conjunction with the Peace River Branch AGM taking place Nov 15, 2024. Link HERE

Using case studies and examples, this course looks at professionalism, the code of ethics, and the responsibilities of professional Agrologists. The Professional Governance Act and the BCIA Bylaws will also be reviewed. This workshop is a requirement for all new Registrants in the Articling Program, Expedited Admission Program, and as a Limited License Agrologist. Includes lunch, materials, and certificate on completion.

The BCIA Ethics for Professionals course is a requirement of the Articling Program, Expedited Admission Program, and LLAg Registrants. All new BCIA registrants are required to take this course.

The course covers topics including:

• Definition of agrology and being a professional
• BCIA as a regulating body under the PGA
• Professional self-regulation
• Professional Governance Act
• Code of Ethics
• Duty to Report
• Responsibilities of agrologists

The course will also review the new Code of Ethics, Duty to Report, and the changes to the BCIA Bylaws following the enactment of the Professional Governance Act.

Lunch included - If you have dietary restrictions/allergies/intolerances: i.e. Vegan, vegetarian, gluten, lactose, etc. If an allergy please advise if it is anaphylaxis and if so, that you carry an EpiPen.

Rob Kupchanko, PAg, has 30 years of experience in consulting and a background in environmental earth sciences, hydrology, and natural resource management. Since 2003, Rob has led Associated Environmental’s practice in contaminated site services. In this field, Rob has managed or led more than 800 contaminated site investigations in BC, AB, SK, and northern Canada, and has directed the remediation of a wide range of industrial and commercial properties. With BCIA, Rob has been active for just under two decades. He has served on the Provincial Council (including President), held various office positions with the Okanagan Branch, and is currently Chair of the Governance Committee. He also has been prominent in the development of the BCIA Ethics Course and is one of the course instructors.

ATTENTION articling registrants!! The in-person event will be an excellent opportunity to network and meet with other branch registrants.

Please note that photographs and footage will be taken. These will be used by BCIA for marketing and publicity in our publications, on our website, newsletters, and on social media. Should you not wish to have your photo taken and used for these purposes, please advise the photographer at the time.

Due to high interest in last min sign up, we are reopening registrations. Once you register, email Jasmine Wong PPDC at PD@bcia.com to confirm you have. You will need to organise to bring a packed lunch as we cannot guarantee you a lunch or your dietary concerns. You will also need to print or download the course materials materials below and bring them to the course.
