Tour of the Kamloops Food Hub facility, including the Butler Farm Garden, the Gleaning Abundance program, and "The Stir" facility, which supports local food entrepreneurs. The presentation will focus on how these facilities contribute to food security in the Kamloops area as part of the larger community food policy.
The Kamloops Food Hub promotes food sovereignty in the Kamloops region under the direction of the Kamloops Food Policy Council. Programs such as the Butler Community Garden (which will be included in the tour), the Gleaning Abundance program (which harvests any overabundance of local produce from urban landscapes)) and The Stir facility itself ()which provides a venue from which small local food processors can work), support many local artisanal food processors, producers, and farmers.
Kent Fawcett, Food Hub Manager, will be conducting the tour.
Please note that photographs and footage will be taken throughout the tour. These will be used by BCIA for marketing and publicity in our publications, on our website, newsletters, and on social media. Should you not wish to have your photo taken and used for these purposes, please advise the photographer at the time.
