 Join us for a lunchtime webinar with Steve Leech, Director of Food Safety and Animal Health at Chicken Farms of Canada. Steve will share his expertise and insights on how Canada has managed the challenges of Avian Influenza and how Canada’s experiences are impacted by the global context. Attendees will gain a deeper understanding of the importance of collaboration, innovation and best practices in the face of animal health challenges, and how they can be leveraged to drive progress in the industry.

Steve Leech is the Director of Food Safety and Animal Health at Chicken Farmers of Canada (CFC). In this role, Steve is responsible for the Raised by a Canadian Farmer On-Farm Food Safety Program and works closely with the provincial boards, industry stakeholders and the CFC Production Committee.

Having started at CFC in 2002, Steve has helped manage the 2004 avian influenza event in BC at the national level, and over the past year he has been directly involved in working with CFIA and the provincial boards to manage the avian influenza cases across the country.

Over the course of his tenure at CFC, Steve has represented Chicken Farmers of Canada on several industry and government committees in the areas of food safety, antimicrobial use and resistance, processing and biosecurity.

Steve holds a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture degree from the University of Guelph and a Master of Science in Animal Nutrition, also from the University of Guelph.
