Kamloops Branch is hosting this event in partnership with the Thompson-Nicola Invasive Plant Management Committee (TNIPMC) for a FREE hands-on professional development event hosted at Thompson Rivers University. This workshop is designed for BCIA registrants seeking to deepen their understanding of invasive plant species and practical management strategies.
Led by Kristi Gordon (TNIPMC Education and Outreach Lead) and Jollee Perrier, PAg (TNRD Integrated Pest Management Technician), the session will cover:
- Invasive Plants 101: What they are and why they matter
- Integrated Pest Management
- Plant ID basics including a review of plant phenology and identifying regional priority invasive plants
- An outdoor campus walk to identify local invaders and explore potential management techniques
Note: Attendees are encouraged to bring their own snacks and beverages, as food will not be provided.
ATTENTION articling registrants!! The in-person event will be an excellent opportunity to network and meet with other branch registrants.
