Nominations for Branch Executive:
We are looking for nominations for Vancouver Executive positions. Positions up for election this year at the Branch AGM include:
● Vice Chair (2-yr; Chair in second year): Available
● Secretary (1-yr): Available
● Directors (1-yr): Four positions available
● Student Reps (1-yr): Multiple positions available
● PD Coordinator (2-yr): Available
Being part of the Branch Executive is a great experience! You can learn about the business of the institute, help develop professional development activities that you are passionate about, add to your resume, and grow your professional network. Additionally, being part of the branch executive can be used for professional development hours. We encourage everyone who is interested in putting their names forward.
If you would like to nominate yourself (or someone else with their permission), please forward your nomination to Carson Li at carsonli0710@gmail.com by January 28. Nominations should include the position of interest and a short bio/statement.
Please note: Nominations will only be accepted from the floor for positions that did not receive nominations prior to the AGM.

Articling Registrants Needing To Do Their Presentation
All articling Registrants that need to complete their presentation at this year’s AGM, please forward your name to Graham Watson at Graham.Watson@gov.bc.ca by January 27. Your email should include a photo of yourself and the following:
1. Your name, AAg or ATAg
2. Where you are located/where you are from
3. Who is your mentor (If you don’t have a mentor, put “Seeking Mentor”)
4. Your educational background
5. Main area of practice within agrology (or if not yet employed, what area you are interested in)
6. Your current job/role/employer/professional experience
Please note: All those wishing to complete their oral presentation must register for the AGM and indicate when registering that they are presenting, as well as provide the information listed above.
AAg introduction is open for in-person attendance only. The primary purpose of this requirement is to give you the opportunity to introduce yourself to your branch, foster connections, and strengthen your sense of community.
About the Guest Presenter
Gillian Gregory is a mine closure and social performance practitioner based in British Columbia, Canada, with 14 years’ experience supporting major mining, oil and gas, and alternative energy projects. Her work focuses on asset transition planning, post-mining land use, and regeneration opportunities, including the integration of socioeconomic and cultural values into mine closure and reclamation strategies. She has led and contributed to impact assessments, engagement programs, due diligence reviews, and socioeconomic and Indigenous programming, with particular expertise in stakeholder engagement and community capacity-building. She is fluent in English and Spanish.
All newly elevated Registrants (new PAgs, TAgs and LLAgs) will be recognized for their achievements.

ATTENTION articling registrants!! The in-person event will be an excellent opportunity to network and meet with other branch registrants.
Please note that photographs and footage will be taken. These will be used by BCIA for marketing and publicity in our publications, on our website, newsletters, and on social media. Should you not wish to have your photo taken and used for these purposes, please advise the photographer at the time.
If you are attending the AGM in person only, please register with the Code: "AGMONLY" to wave the fee. This will allow you to attend the AGM portion only and will exclude you from the PD Session and the Catering.
