You’ve seen the stunning images of cranberry bogs glowing with thousands of floating berries, now’s your chance to step right into the heart of the harvest! Join the Vancouver Branch for an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour at Hopcott Farms, a third-generation family farm in Pitt Meadows.

This unique experience will take you out to the cranberry fields during harvest season, where you’ll learn directly from Travis Hopcott, part-owner and operator, about the fascinating history of cranberries in British Columbia, the science behind cranberry cultivation, and the careful process of harvesting these vibrant berries.

Along the way, you’ll gain insights into sustainability practices, local food systems, and the important role cranberries play in BC agriculture. You’ll also have the opportunity to explore the bogs, snap unforgettable photos, and, if you choose the “Take the Plunge” (add-on for $14 +GST. Tickets to “take the plunge” can be purchased directly through the Hopcott farms website.), don chest waders and immerse yourself right in the floating cranberry beds for that picture-perfect moment!

This 90-minute tour blends education with hands-on experience, offering registrants a chance to connect with agriculture in action. Whether you’re curious about crop production, food security, or simply want to enjoy one of BC’s most iconic harvests, this event promises to be both informative and memorable.
