Join Vic and Islands Branch for an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of Natural Pastures Cheese Company, an award-winning artisanal cheese producer in Courtenay, BC! This rare opportunity allows participants to witness the cheesemaking process firsthand, learn about the company’s rich history and sustainable dairy practices, and enjoy a guided cheese tasting.
Led by Doug Smith, this immersive experience will highlight how locally sourced cow and water buffalo milk is transformed into Natural Pastures’ renowned handcrafted cheeses. Attendees will gain insights into European cheesemaking traditions blended with unique Vancouver Island flavors.
What to Expect:
✅ Facility Tour: Observe cheesemaking in action (protective footwear and clothing covers provided, please dress practically)
✅ Presentation & Q&A: Learn about the art and science of cheesemaking, sustainability, and the company’s journey
✅ Cheese Tasting: Sample a selection of handcrafted cheeses paired with tea
