Join the Vancouver Branch for an interactive in-person tour of the KPU Farm, a leading site for applied agricultural research and sustainable farming practices in the Fraser River region.

This half-day event will begin with a welcome, introductions, and land acknowledgement, followed by a brief overview of the farm’s history and its role in education and innovation. Participants will then take part in a guided tour of the farm, exploring a range of production systems and research initiatives.

During the tour, attendees will visit:

  • The Dome and sliding tunnel systems
  • Market garden production areas
  • Dryland rice cultivation trials
  • Student-led research projects
  • A 1-metre soil pit to examine soil structure and profile

The session will conclude with a facilitated discussion and networking opportunity, focusing on how lessons from KPU Farm can be applied to privately-owned peatlands along the Fraser River, with an emphasis on practical implementation and knowledge sharing.

This event is ideal for agrologists interested in sustainable agriculture, soil systems, and applied research, and offers valuable insight into innovative practices being tested in a local context.
