Open to: All BCIA Registrants and their Guests
Join the Victoria and Islands Branch for an engaging morning exploring the connections between ocean health, environmental stewardship, and agrology. The event begins with a presentation by Dr. Tim Edgell, RPBio, founder of Real Oceans Consultants Ltd., who will share insights from more than 25 years of experience in marine science and environmental consulting.
Drawing on his work across Canada's three oceans, Dr. Edgell will discuss the unique and fragile ecosystems of the Salish Sea, examining the impacts of climate change, industrialization, runoff, ocean acidification, fisheries, and habitat degradation. Participants will also explore the growing role that agrology-informed practices play in protecting and restoring marine environments.
Following the presentation, participants are invited to put stewardship into action by joining Surfrider Foundation South Vancouver Island for a community beach clean-up at Whiffin Spit. This hands-on activity provides an opportunity to contribute directly to the health of our coastal ecosystems while connecting with fellow BCIA registrants and community members.
