Situated at the entrance to the Victoria Harbour, the McLoughlin Point Wastewater Treatment Plant treats wastewater from the core municipalities of the Capital Regional District (Victoria, Esquimalt, Langford, Colwood, Oak Bay, Saanich and View Royal). Completed in 2020, the facility is designed to treat up to 108 megalitres of wastewater per day. Attendees of this event will get a firsthand look at the physical, biological and chemical treatment processes employed at this tertiary treatment facility. Bring a hard hat if you have one and wear close-toed, sturdy shoes (or steel toes). Hard hats will be provided to those that need one.

Denis Jasinsky is the Manager of Core Area Wastewater Operations for the Capital Regional District. He has worked in the wastewater treatment operations industry for over 20 years in Alberta and BC. He maintains a certification as a Wastewater Treatment Level 4 with the Environmental Operators Certification Program. Over the last 4 years, Denis has played an integral role in the commissioning and operation of the McLoughlin Point Wastewater Treatment Plant.

 

ATTENTION AAgs!! This will be an excellent opportunity to network and meet with other members of the Branch.

Remember that as an Agrologist, PD is essential to practice and all PD costs are tax deductible.
