Theresa Loewen, PAg
Theresa has been employed in environmental and agricultural consulting, most recently with McTavish Resource Consultants Ltd., for over 10 years. Her areas of practice include land evaluation, classification, mapping, conservation, and management; Protection and management of environmental resources; and, Land restoration, reclamation, and remediation. Over the past decade, Theresa has gained experience across multiple sectors, including government, non-profit, academic and industry.
Theresa has been a registrant of the BCIA since 2015, and first joined the Okanagan Branch as Articling Coordinator in 2016. In 2021, Theresa joined the provincial Credentials Committee and also took on the role of branch President Elect, advancing to President near the end of 2021 for a 2 year term. From 2024 to 2025, she held the roles of branch Director and Treasurer, until being elected by acclamation to the position of Board Representative in May 2025.
Theresa is passionate about environmental and agricultural stewardship, sustainable innovation, and facilitating knowledge transfer within the community through teaching, education, and mentorship. She remains actively involved on the BCIA Okanagan Branch as a mentor, and holds additional community positions such as Chair of the Okanagan College Environmental Studies Program Advisory Committee and Council Member of the Okanagan Basin Water Board (OBWB) Water Stewardship Council.
