This applied course focuses on methods to identify wetlands and delineate their boundaries in the field based on vegetation, soil, and hydrological indicators. Course work includes desktop assessment of wetland boundaries using aerial photo interpretation. Come prepared to gain hands-on experience and develop technical skills for plant identification, field description of soil profiles, evaluation of hydrology, and use of existing data sources to determine wetland boundaries. Topics in wetland classification, functional assessment, regulatory processes, impacts and mitigation will be covered.

Most registrants who practise professional engineering and professional geoscience will enter into contractual agreements at some point over the course of their work or career. While Engineers and Geoscientists BC always recommends getting legal advice for developing contracts, there are also professional and ethical considerations that should also be taken into account. This webinar will provide practical considerations related to professional and ethical conduct for registrants as they navigate contractual relationships.

Using case studies and examples, this course looks at the professionalism, the code of ethics, and the responsibilities of professional Agrologists. The course will also review the new Code of Ethics, Duty to Report and the changes to the BCIA Bylaws following the enactment of the Professional Governance Act. 

The purpose of this course is to introduce technical and non-technical individuals to those principles and techniques of effective project management, which can be usefully applied to technical and non-technical projects.
