WHY ~3% INCREASE? >
It maintains core capacity, funds strategic-plan priorities, and preserves prudent reserves - reducing the risk of larger future increases or solvency pressures.
WHY NOT DRAW DOWN RESERVES INSTEAD? >
Reserves are a risk-management tool, not a recurring revenue source. Using them for ongoing operations increases solvency risk and can force steep adjustments later.
HOW DOES THIS SUPPORT PUBLIC PROTECTION? >
Fees fund investigations, practice oversight, competency requirements, and secure systems - the pillars of trustworthy professional regulation under the Professional Governance Act (PGA).
HOW IS VALUE FOR MONEY ENSURED? >
Through multi-year budgeting, prioritization of high-impact regulatory work, vendor renegotiations, process improvements, reserves and liquidity policies, and transparent reporting.
ARE THERE SUPPORTS FOR SPECIAL CIRCUMSTANCES? >
Please review BCIA policies on status changes/leaves and contact admin@bcia.com for guidance on eligibility and documentation.
HOW DOES THIS ALIGN WITH THE STRATEGIC PLAN? >
The adjustment directly supports planned improvements in practice guidance, professional development, complaints processes and commitments to advancing Truth and Reconciliation while sustaining organizational stability and confidence.
