From time to time during one's career, circumstances may arise that necessitate a change from active status with BCIA.

Listed below are options available to practicing registrants who are considering this step. Any on leave status is available for a period of up to three (3) consecutive years.

If you are resigning, please complete the Resignation in Good Standing form.  No refunds are available on renewal fees which have already been paid.

Requests are processed within 1 - 7 days, with a confirmation email and letter to follow.

Please reference the Agrologists Regulation and the definitions of Regulated Practice, Reserved Title, and Reserved Practice when considering your request. Financial constraints are not a valid reason to request a change in status.

Declaration
  • I have read the Agrologists Regulation outlining Regulated Practice, Reserved Title, and Reserved Practice.
  • I can no longer practice agrology (an offence if doing so under Reserved Practice)
  • I can no longer use title or designation (an offence if doing so under Reserved Title).
  • If at any time during the year I resume gainful employment in Agrology, I will inform the BC Institute of Agrologists by completing the "Return as a Practicing Registrant" form and remit the practicing status fee (may be prorated).
  • Financial constraints are not a valid reason to request a change in status.

Professional Development Reporting
Please log into your BCIA profile to report your professional development hours and declare your Practice Area(s); ensure the required annual and three year reporting minimums will be met appropriately.
Payment

Please choose an option for your payment below. Once your request for status change is approved by the Registrar, your invoice will be updated and payment can be made online, by phone or cheque. A processing receipt will be emailed to you, with the official receipt available under your BCIA profile. NO GST is required.
