BCIA is governed by the Professional Governance Act (PGA) and is seeking to fill vacancies for the following committees that help BCIA fulfill its regulatory mandate:

  • The Credentials Committee sets the qualifications, standards, and policies to make ensure that new registrants are qualified to provide current, competent and ethical agrology practices to the public in line with the PGA and BCIA Bylaws. This Committee meets virtually on a quarterly basis, with meetings lasting 1.5 hours.
  • The Audit and Practice Review Committee’s job is to create programs, policies, and requirements that help registrants stay competent and skilled, so the public is protected in line with the PGA and BCIA Bylaws. This Committee meets virtually on a quarterly basis, with meetings lasting approximately 1.5 hours.
  • The Nomination Committee is responsible for finding and reviewing qualified BCIA registrants and public members for Board and Committee roles to ensure diverse perspectives, knowledge and experience are included. This Committee meets virtually on a quarterly basis, with meetings lasting 1.5 hours.
  • The Investigation Committee oversees the complaints process – reviewing complaints regarding registrants, directs the investigation process and makes fair and reasonable decisions that focus on public safety, following the PGA and BCIA Bylaws. This Committee meets virtually in panels of 3 as needed to ensure a timely investigation process.

Being part of a committee presents a unique opportunity to actively contribute to the important work being done by BCIA to protect the public by ensuring safe, competent, and ethical practice of agrology in BC.
