Gurbir Dhillon
Research Scientist·Farming Smarter
As research scientist at Farming Smarter, I lead the grant-based agronomy research program. Our research is focused on improving the agronomic management practices to enhance the productivity and long-term sustainability of crop production systems in southern Alberta. I completed my Ph.D. and post-doctoral fellowship in Soil Science at University of Saskatchewan.
Andrew Mans
Organic Farmer·Mans Organics
Andrew is an organic farmer growing field and greenhouse vegetables and cover crops near Coaldale, Alberta. His passion lies in regenerative agriculture with the intent of having the farm produce healthy food while improving the soil and the farms ecosystem as a whole. He feels that the regenerative approach to farming is sustainable, profitable and enjoyable.
Graham Gilchrist
CEO, P.Ag.·Biological Carbon Canada
Graham Gilchrist is a Professional Agrologist and serves as the CEO of the Canadian Institute for Biological Carbon, commonly known as Biological Carbon Canada TM. He brings to this position 30 years’ worth of experience serving the needs of rural Alberta and British Columbia. Graham started his carbon journey as the Assistant Farmers’ Advocate when in 2007, the Office first heard about ‘this carbon contract’. He successfully guided the development and creation of rules for the aggregation industry, bringing practical evidence into the protocol development process and advising several Ministries on carbon policy. As CEO since 2017, he has built the non-profit into a hub of information for industry and farmers. He continues to advocate for carbon markets and the farm management needed for farms to participate in this new commodity marketplace. In addition, he serves as one of the technical advisors to Environment Canada for protocol development. Graham holds a license to practice agrology in Alberta, British Columbia and Saskatchewan. Graham still calls the Milk River valley and Writing-on-Stone home.
Scott Gillespie

Scott Gillespie has nearly two decades of experience in dryland and irrigated specialty crop agriculture in Southern Alberta, Canada. He has always been interested in blending the practices of organic and conventional agriculture. All of his jobs have been focused on agronomy without product sales and so that is why he has focused his company, Plants Dig Soil Consulting Ltd., on #RealisticRegenAg, which is advice without the pitch. Scott has his B.Sc. (Agr.) with a focus in Agronomy from the University of Guelph and his M.Sc. with a focus in Plant Science from the University of Manitoba. Along with Certified Crop Advisor status he is also registered with the Alberta Institute of Agrologists as a Professional Agrologist
Trevor Wallace
P.Ag, Provincial Nutrient Management Specialist·Alberta Agriculture and Irrigation
Trevor has been working in the agricultural sector for over 25 years; including extension and research in Alberta, Saskatchewan, and the Maritimes. Currently he is the Provincial Nutrient Management Specialist with Alberta Agriculture and Irrigation based out of Leduc. His role includes an extension, research and policy development responsibilities. Trevor works with a variety of stakeholders, to develop and implement programs that support a sustainable Agriculture sector. Trevor graduated from the University of Saskatchewan with a Bachelor of Science in Biology, a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture and later completed his Master of Science in Agriculture. In addition to a certificate in Adult Education from University of Alberta.
