Zayed is a senior environmental scientist, team lead, and Contaminated Sites Approved Professional (CSAP). Zayed specializes in delivering environmental support for urban development, while also bringing broad experience across many industry sectors. His portfolio includes work with private industry, all levels of government, and First Nations clients at sites such as highway maintenance camps, military bases, prisons, sawmills, auto repair and machine shops, service stations, dry cleaners, shipyards, and airports.
Zayed serves on the CSAP Society board as chair of the Technical Review Committee. In this role he stays current with evolving provincial and federal regulations, policies, and best practices. Over his career he has become known for clear communication, sound technical judgment, and skill in working with clients, stakeholders, and regulators to advance projects through approval.
His experience includes:
• Preparation and CSAP review of regulatory submissions under the Contaminated Sites Regulation (CSR) and Environmental Management Act (EMA) including Approvals in Principle and Certificates of Compliance.
• Designing and managing investigations and remediation of contaminated soil, groundwater, sediment, and soil vapour and communicating effectively with clients, stakeholders, and regulators.
• Interpreting and analyzing chemical, hydrogeological, and stratigraphic data and preparing technical reports for Phase I, II, and III Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs), Stage 1 and 2 Preliminary Site Investigations (PSIs), and remediation projects.
