Jen is ecologist, agrologist, consultant, and life-long learner who is passionate about linking biodiversity, food sovereignty and ecosystem restoration to regenerative and traditional food systems. She has amassed over 15 years of experience as an ecologist and although much of her work has been steeped in ecology-based land care, over the last few years has delved into bridging the ecological/agricultural intersection and believes this is an integral component of not only resilient and healthy ecosystems but healthy humans as well.
You can find Jen working as an independent consultant who consults on a variety of agro-ecological projects ranging from restoration of at-risk ecosystems, conducting vegetation, soil, and riparian surveys & developing collaborative solutions to grazing and site restoration. She strives to provide personalized services to adapt to local and regional needs using experiences from both her ecological and agricultural backgrounds.
Jen is executive board member of Organic BC, serves on the certification committee of Island Organic Producers Association, is an active member of Groundbreakers Agricultural Association.
In addition to her love of growing all things edible, Jen is an avid explorer of mountains and coastlines with her 2 and 4-legged family and a wannabe farmer helping friends on their market garden and CSA farms.
