Bio

Duncan and his wife Jane own and operate the family ranch east of Williams Lake, BC, having raised three daughters all involved in various aspects of agriculture. The ranch business produces forage and beef cattle. Enterprises include the sale of hay, custom grazing and feeding, and sale of Red Angus yearlings, bred heifers and cows. Duncan has always had a passion for land and water stewardship, and has participated in holistic, sustainable and now regenerative agricultural movements throughout his career. Topics such as Climate Change adaptation and provision of Ecological Goods and Services (including carbon sequestration) capture his interest. Although his focus is production agriculture, Duncan is well versed in matters of land use planning, governance, social license for agriculture, and Indigenous reconciliation. Duncan is active in regional, provincial and national livestock industry associations. In addition to his ranching business, he is an auxiliary meat inspector for the Province and does select consulting projects.
