BCIA did not receive any nominations for District 1 in advance of the nomination deadline, or its subsequent extension, thereby enacting BCIA Bylaw section 55. This section allows the BCIA Board to either temporarily appoint a registrant or hold an election for the vacancy created by not having received any nominations at the end of the nomination period. Shortly after the deadline passed, BCIA received two expressions of interest from registrants to serve as a Board member in District 1. The Board has determined that in accordance with BCIA Bylaw section 55(a)(ii) to hold an election for District 1 to fill the vacant Registrant Board Member term.
The BCIA Nomination Committee has assessed all submissions using the processes outlined in Sections 25 and 26 of the Professional Governance Act and Sections 5 and 6 of the Professional Governance General Regulation and is pleased to qualify the following applicants for election to the BCIA Board in Regional Electoral District 1.
THE VOTING PERIOD HAS CLOSED ---> ELECTION RESULTS: Julie Robinson is confirmed as the Registrant Board Member for Electoral District 1 and will begin her new term immediately after the 2025 BCIA AGM, which is set for May 7th.
