BCIA registrants must renew their annual license AND finalize the 2025 PD report including Practice Area(s) by the deadline of January 15, 2026 or late penalty fee(s) will be added to the invoice.

Best practices for the renewal process:

  • Submit notification of any status change ASAP, i.e., change to or from "On Leave" status.
  • Reference the Fee Schedule for registrant fees and applicable late fee(s)
  • Verify your current employer and work contact information; at least one contact detail must be entered and will be viewable to the public, per OSPG directives relating to the Professional Governance Act.
  • Ensure all other contact information is accurate, including the primary account email address under 'Account Settings'. BCIA recommends that you use a personal email address as your primary under ‘Account Settings’ for all communications so you don’t miss important regulatory updates or notices.
  • Reference the PD Guidelines and other related information.
  • Enter all 2025 professional development (PD) activities in the BCIA account by January 15, 2026, or a $80.00 late PD filing fee will apply.
  • Check that required annual and three-year reporting period PD hour minimums can be met before December 31st.
  • Declare your 2025 Practice Area(s).
  • Expect to complete mandatory action items before payment of annual renewal fees, one being the Annual Declarations completed online.
  • Office staff cannot process a payment by phone, email, or mail until all pre-payment requirements are completed online, including the 2025 PD Report.

Annual Renewal is more than a fee or formality—it is a yearly accountability check that protects the public. By renewing, registrants confirm their good character, ethical obligations, professional development, practice areas, and current contact and employment information, and maintain the registration and licensure required to practice. Together with the renewal fee, this supports core regulatory functions under the Professional Governance Act, ensuring that competent and ethical agrologists practice in the public interest.
